You Belong in 1985

Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.

Mustard algae....YUCK!

Today, to my dismay, Larry discovered that we have algae in our pool. YUCK! So I got the scope and started brushing the inside walls trying to get rid of it. While I am outside doing this Crosby is with me. If I walk to one side of the pool, there he is, if I turn around and go the other way, he is right there behind me. I have almost fallen over him several times, still there he is. Anyway, as I am brushing the sides of the pool, which is where most of the algae seems to be...I am thinking there has to be an easier way to get rid of this nasty yellow stuff! I went inside and got on the internet and found a product that will help with the algae. So I went to the Paddock Pool store and got an algaecide...on the back of the bottle it reads, "brush and vacuum pool surfaces thoroughly before using". Hmmmm that is what I was trying to get out of doing.

Belated birthday.....

Okay, I guess I should tell everyone how wonderful my girls are!! On March 7-8 Katie, Abbey, Kimee and Kelsi took me to the Arizona Grand Hotel, a quite posh hotel in Phoenix. I didn't know where we were going until I arrived with them. When we got to our room (which was beautiful), they told me I could choose to have a massage or a facial, and being that I love facials that is what I chose. The facial was AWESOME! After that we all went to dinner, and when we got back to our room, we watched 27 dresses.....I have to admit that I didn't see the whole movie because I fell asleep, but what I saw of it I liked. The next day when we all woke up I was told by all four girls that I snore, and apparently I snore very very loudly! I knew that I snored, but I never realized to what degree. Anyway, we all went to Mimi's Cafe for Breakfast. The food was yummy. My girls are the best!! And I want to tell them "thank you" again. I know that alot of planning went in to it. I LOVE MY GIRLS!!! I didn't take pictures, but Katie brought her camera with her,so I will see if I can get some pics from her to post.

Jill

Larry's younger, come to think of it only sister was here last week. She lives in Chicago, and we don't get to see her as much as we would like to, but anyway..........We had so much fun with her. She is just like we are, I don't know if that is good or bad, but we all just love her! We took some crazy pictures by the pool while she was here, and I am going to post a few. I am kind of sad that Kelsi wasn't in the pics. While we were playing, she was hard at work.

Scan results today.

Well after a grueling 3 weeks, today I finally got my scan results and they were not what I was hoping for. My scan was positive, which means that the 3 RAI treatments I have had in the past have done little to get rid of what still remains in my neck. The docs have decided to do an
MRI, and get a better look at what might be going on. If that doesn't work, they will do a PET scan. They are thinking that maybe we are dealing with a small mass rather than residual thyroid cancer tissue. At any rate we will do what we need to do to get healthy and cancer free! On a positive note....I get to go back on my meds, and eat anything I want to...YAY for food!! Tonight is the eve of my belated surprise birthday party with my four daughters. I am VERY excited to see what my girlies have planned!!
Since my blog today was mainly about my thyroid, I am going to post a few pictures of what my neck looked like after I had it removed.

Crosby...my dumpster diving dog!!

Well, today....my dog got into the garbage again! This is a new thing with him, it started about 2 weeks ago. Before that time, he was the perfect pooch. Now when ever I leave the house or even leave the room, he likes to lurk around the trash. it is so hard to get mad at him, because he looks at you like he has no clue! But then while cleaning up the mess he loses a little cuteness, with each sweep of the broom. I am posting a picture of him, rather than the messes he has been making. You can see why it is hard to get mad at him!

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was my birthday, my 49th. I remember when I couldn't wait for my birthday to come, waking up, turning a year older, it was all so exciting...But yesterday was no big deal. I woke up, went to work, came home, walked my beloved dog Crosby, and my wonderful hubby cooked me a meal that consisted of no salt.... I am in the process of preparing for my possible RAI treatment, so my body has to be starved of iodine, so that when I do the scans and "IF" I have to undergo another radio active iodine treatment, it will zap those little remaining bits of cancer that have been so insistant in staying with me. I did however get to see all four of my beautiful daughters, who are planning a belated birthday bash for their Mom, it is a suprise, and I have no clue about what will take place, but no doubt it will be a blast! So light the candles, I will have my cake when I can eat it too!
