Abbey went to New York last week. She worked her butt off and won the trip courtesy of Victoria's Secret...she even got to see the famous Victoria's Secret fashion show. We were all very jealous of course, but were so happy for her, so we wished her well. While she was gone I got to take care of Madden and even had him overnight one night. Last Saturday, Madden spent the night. It was his first sleepover at my house. I just have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed him. He is such a sweet tempered little guy, and so easy going. He recently started walking, and though he does it quite well, he still prefers crawing . I took a video of him walking, and it is the cutest thing!! It makes me smile every time I watch it.

Just a few weeks ago this little guy turned one. It is hard to imagine life without this sweet little boy. It is also unbelievable to me that a whole year has passed since we were first introduced. Madden has blessed our lives so much, and brings giggles and smiles to everyone he comes in contact with. He is the happiest baby I've seen. Thanks for bringing so much joy to us Madden...we LOVE you!

Marques had his first sleepover at my house. We spent the day together, and ate at Firehouse Subs (notice the fire hat), them we bought a windmill and some stickers at the store. When we came home he decorated some papers (and Crosby) with the stickers he picked out at the store. We had Little Ceasers Pizza for dinner, as that is the only kind he likes. Then we put his p j's on and watched Imagination Movers. He slept all night and in the morning we had smoothies. It was a FUN time!

I have complained time after time about how aging sucks, not just what it does to your body,but the wrinkles, the saggy neck. It just isn't fair!! But it seems that I am not the only one who is showing signs of age. I was looking through some old pictures of when we got Crosby, and I was schocked when I compared the pictures to what he now looks like. Welcome to the Club Crosby....It happens to us all!! The first two pictures are what our man looks like now, and the bottom three are better days.

Madden and Marques are enrolled in swim lesson together. Today I went and watched as learn to swim. Madden has been doing lessons for over a month, but Marques' first lesson was today. I was able to get some cute pictures. I think the best part was after lessons were over, and I was able to snuggle with both of them in a dry towel.

Today this boy turns 2. I cannot believe how fast the time goes by, and how much joy this little one has brought to our family. It seem like just yesterday we held his tiny little body suggly in our arms after making his debut. What did we ever do without him? He is so much a part of us now. I'm sure this birthday won't be a big deal to him, but I want him to know how much I love his little smile, his hilarious expressions, his silly songs, his jibberish, his little phrases, and yes even his tantrums. I love you Marques!!! You belong to our family, and we are thrilled you're ours! Thanks for making me a grandma!

Today is Superbowl Sunday, and me? well I lack the excitement that this day usually brings. I don't know that I will be cheering for..

When Football season bagan this year, I really had hoped that maybe this would be the year for the Bears. From the beginning it seemed they were destined for greatness...and, they did have a pretty great season. When they lost in the playoffs to Greenbay I was less than happy...It was a good game, but the outcome was not what I wanted. So today, it will be about the fun people, and the great food, and of course the new commercials. I will be okay, and who knows.....maybe next year it will be about the Bears!!

short 20 months that I have been one there are a few things I know, here
is a list of ten.

1-It is my right to spoil my grandchildren.
2-There are very few boundaries, when they want something, they get it.
3-A clean house is a thing of the past.
4-They are expensive.
5-Buying boy's clothes is wearing on me.
6-Grandbabies are so much fun to hold, and when they cry, you can always give them back.
7-The Disney channel is a staple at my house.
8-I actually like Noggin A Moose.
9-Having them cry when they have to go home is bittersweet.
10-I will never be able to drink a can of soda without sharing.

Most of the people who know me, know that I have an adorable Basset Hound named Crosby. He is crazy about me and, well the feeling is mutual. Since we have had Crosby, he has had issues with his ears. Long basset hound ears = ear infections.
Because of his on going chronic infections we decided that the best thing would be to do the surgery which would removed his ear canal, along with his ear drum to alleviate further infections and the pain that comes along with them. Friday he had surgery and because the surgery is involving, he was required to stay overnight til Saturday. He came home wearing a collar to prevent him from scratching and some pain pills. After a rough three days, he is finally doing well.

So Halloween came and went. Normally there is nothing remarkable about it, except maybe a few newly made decorations that get added each year. Usually Larry and I argue about who will be the next one to open the door and greet the "trick or treaters". There was even the year when we agreed that if I gave out candy to all of them that year he would do it the following year....the next year came and he didn't keep his word. This year however, we were excpecting a special trick or treater. Little Marques looked adorable in his pumpkin costume. Next year, Madden will be joining him, Grandkids are the BEST!!

So weeding at our house is a family affair! Larry trims the Palms, and shrubs, etc. I pull the weeds, pick up the trimmed pieces of foilage, and Crosby lies in the ground cover (yes the ground cover). He just layed there the whole time until we were finished, and then he followed us inside! Sometimes, I wish I had his life!! But you have to admit, he looks pretty cute lying there, smashing down the ground cover!

So lately I have done a lot of flying. I usually fly Coach, and most of the time I have to check in online like a poor sap, so that I get put in the A group. But today me and my love were lucky enough to fly First Class. Today isn't the first time we have ever flown First Class, but it was the first time truly flying in style. I felt like a kid in a candy store, I had a tv screen in front of me where I could choose a Movie, T.V., Showtime, video games etc. with a touch of my remote. The seats were leather and kind set in an angle, in the direction of an arrow. There was a shelf to put my feet, a cubby for my purse but the best part is that the chair reclined into a bed, yes..I said bed. The pciture above is one that I got off of the internet, I wish I had taken one, but this one should give a good idea of the kind of luxury I lavished in today. Coach is going to be really difficult to take after today!!!

It has been a while since I have blogged, and what I am blogging about today may or may not be blog worthy...but here goes. Last week my better half and I went to Virginia for an auto recycling show held in Danville, Virginia. I went for support, and to help with whatever. This particular show was held in a recycling yard warehouse....dusty, greasy, and hot!!!(by hot I mean, no airconditioning). You probably all know that Virginia is pretty humid. It lasted two days, but we sold about 7 Supershears...so we were happy about that!

While we were there, we stayed at the Hampton. When I woke up the second morning to get ready for the show, I noticed two things missing, my.....

I have never had anything taken in any hotel I have stayed in and found it very strange that of all things to steal, you choose an eyelash curler and some hair clips??? My better half thought that maybe I had misplaced them, but when we got home yesterday and unpacked our bags....you guessed it , the items were MIA.
We left for the Airport yesterday at 7:00 a.m.to return home.I am not a big fan of flying, it just feels like the biggest hassle,packing, unpacking, checking bags, carryons, logging on the computer to check in, hoping you get an "A" and then waiting in line, and then the dreaded 2 hour layover, which we had.....But when my beloveed told me it was in Midway, Chicago, a smile came to my face. In the Chicago Midway airport they have a...

We ordered up some sandwiches and made our bellies happy. I think that maybe, it made up for the mishap at the Hotel. I always love to come home, and who was there to greet me when I opened the front door???

The Worst Grandma!

Today while I was watching my one and only boy boy, something happened...... he was chasing me(quite fast actually)...well he fell and bumped his head on the coffee table, well actually his eye. I felt horrible, and whats worse, is that last week while he was here, I hit him in the head while I was mopping. I am beginning to feel like maybe I am not the best person to watch him! While his wound from last week has healed, I am certain that this won't be the case with today's bump! Am I cursed??

Today when I woke up, the house was different. Something was missing. It felt a little less cheerful, a lot less silly, a little less sweet. All because... she moved out.....

Yep, the last of my girls moved out yesterday. For the first time in my adult life, the only ones living under my roof are me and my wonderful hubby. I was a little sad until... he came over.....

Today is Marques' first birthday. Last night we had a party for him. We showered him with gifts, and made him a cake. Everyone was there, and we were all excited to see him open his presents, and eat his cake, but...... he couldn't have cared less! I think he may have been overwhelmed with all the gifts and all of the attention. Any way he is now 1 year old. I can't imagine life without him. Happy Birthday my little one, I love you!

Saturday night Larry, Kelsi and I went to BJ's for dinner. It had been raining all day, but the rain had seemed to subside. We all thought it would be fun when we got home to make a fire in the pit, and enjoy it for awhile. When Larry got home, he proceeded to make the fire, mean while the rain started coming down...we all thought that maybe we would just get some umbrellas and sit by the fire until it stopped, after all it wasn't raining that hard. Bad idea, we ended up getting pretty wet, the wood was getting wet and things were getting smokey, then things just went from bad to worse. Below are a few pictures of our memorable night....notice in the last photo, Crosby is sticking his head out the doggy door...He knew enough not to go out into the cold and wet.

Lost Dutchman Marathon!

Sunday (yesterday), I went to Apache Junction to watch Larry and Katie participate in the "Lost Dutchman Marathon" Larrycompleted the Half Marathon, while Katie did the 10K. They both did a great job! I am so proud!! Pictures are below.

The past few weeks Marques has kind of been intrigued about our doggy door, I think he even went through it a couple of times. Today however I am having a hard time keeping him from going through it. As soon as he gets to the outside, he takes off running. When I bring him back inside, he goes straight for the door. I finally put the cover over it, which caused him to throw a small tantrum. Today while I was cleaning the kitchen counter, I came across this mug (picture below). My sweet husband has had it since he was living in Chicago. So probably it has been in his possession for 25 years +. I put it in the dishwasher, as I always do...but as always, when this happens my other half, makes a big deal of it and tells me that...he just wishes I would leave it on the counter, so that he doesn't have to go in search of it whenever he wants a drink of water. Quite an ugly mug as you can see. I am beginning to think that it will be a permanent fixture on my counter.

KIdney stones and things that just GENERALLY hurt!!

Today I am blogging about my kidneys....boring you say? Don't decide that until you finish my post. Since the end of August I had been having this somewhat nagging pain in my side, sometimes it was bearable and others, well it hurt alot....not knowing what it was I went to the doctor(ER Doctor), he told me he I had a kidney infection and sent me home with an antibiotic.
Well the pain continues, for about another month. So I go to my doctor (doctor #2) and he says he thinks it could be diverticulitis....even I know he is way off base, because I know what that feels like...a differnt pain altogether. So I go back to my gynecologist thinking, well maybe it is female pain....again no luck. So I went back to my family doctor and told him that I knew what it wasn't, he sent me to get an x-ray and when the results came back I found out that I had a 7.8 mm. kidney stone which would require Lithotripsy, a method which uses sound waves to crush the stones This was in November. The lithotripsy machine is a machine that is high in demand, but there are only a handful of them around, so my procedure wasn't able to be scheduled until December 28th. December 28th(Monday) came I had the surgery, and all seemed to be well. But on Wednesday, I woke up with this pain that felt alot like a UTI, the pain progressed through the night and through to morning and became so bad that I found myself puking in the toilet. Katie took me to the ER, where they x-rayed me and told me that I had a 6-7 mm stone in my urteter. This had to be impossibe right?? That is about the size of my previous stone, and that one had been blown to millions of tiny little pieces.
It appeared that the tiny little sand like particles had all gathered in a little spot in my ureter, and decided camp out! After about 6 hours, being poked & poked with needles, and fed really good pain dissapearing medicine trough my IV. they let me go home. Thank you Katie for sitting with me while I whined and cried..oh and threw-up!! I love you!!!

Christmas Eve!

This year we spent Christmas eve at Larry and Erica's house. Erica made some Cioppino, and for the ones who don't dig fish...I made some white bean chicken chili. After eating we went out back and sat around the fire...fun was had by all AND........we finally got to meet Katie's new beau Neil.

Phoenix Muddy Buddy Race!

This morning Larry and I went to the Muddy Buddy Race to watch Larry and Jacob do a Race( bike/run/obstacle course). Larry and Jacob are my stepsons. For Larry this race was something he and his brother could do together, as he has done numerous triathalons and ironman races, but this was Jacobs first race, and of all the races we have gone and watched, this by far was the most entertaining! The total distance of this race was six miles, and besides running and riding there were several obstacle courses throughout, ending with a crawl through the mud! The competeters get pretty creative with their race attire. Pictures are below!

As far as Christmas decorations go, my job is to decorate the inside and Larry's job is to do the outside. Below is a little sample of the inside decorations...this usually takes me at least two days, quite a big undertaking. Also I have posted a picture of the outside (Larry's job), Now I know the man has a full time job, managing his business and building Supershears but is this any excuse for the missing Christmas lights etc?? I think not! Next year will be different!

Okay, I spent friday finishing up the projects that were left unfinished...among those are the ornament wreaths. I did finally finish, my nightmare wreath, which I thinks looks nice, but I also took the advice of my niece Lora, and made one out of a hanger. It looks really cute and was tons easier, it did take alot of ornaments...but what does it really matter?? I had already spent $70 just finishing up the first one. Below are the pictures.

Okay, you've all seen them, and they are way expensive...I'm talking about the glass ornament wreaths. They run $50.00 and up.I saw this one, and decided I could make one for half the price.(picture below)

So today I bought a styrofoam wreath, ribbon, and some different sized ornaments, I wanted to make a red one. I came home and started glueing on the balls after filling about 1/4 of the wreath, I could see that I was going to need more glass balls. I came home with the extra ornaments I had purchased, and guess what??? yep, not near enough. (pictures below)By the way....I have now spent over $45.00. and I am not even finished. Next time I will spend the 50 bucks!!

A few weeks ago I took Marques Jr. to have some Halloween pictures done. Katie told us that she had a friend (Ashley), who does pictures in her home so while we were driving to Ashley's house who do you think fell asleep? Yep, you got it..the baby was in Snooze Town. I have promised that I am going to be more vigilant about my blog...therefore I am going to post more. A month ago Larry and I went to Chicago, I know, I know, I should have posted then, right?? Anyway we drove to Chicago Heights, where he was born,and he showed me where he grew up. It was fun to see his childhood home, where he went to school, and basically where he got into all of his mischief. We stayed with Jill (his sister) as we always do. It was so much fun, as always! Okay this post is long overdue!! In fact I have really been slacking on my blog...I am going to do better! We got back from Hawaii on July 10th. Our trip was quite eventful...and soon, hopefully, we will be able to replace the memory of it with an even better trip!!!!! We went to Kauai, and stayed in Princeville, we arrived on July 3rd. On July 4th We all decided to head to Hanalei. We stopped at Bubba's and had a fabulous burger, and heasded to the beach. We soaked up a good amount of sun, enjoyed the beautiful ocean and decided it was a good day....so with that we packed up our things, (beach towels, coolers, etc). On the way back to the car, Carla (an adopted family member),fell in the sand. After we looked at her leg we decided it was best to call the Life guard over. It appeared that her leg was broken, and broken quite badly! Long story short, she was taken to the hospital, kept overnight, and the next day, while under anethesia, had her leg set. need I say more!!! Not the thing you want to happen in Hawaii. I want to be fair and say that while some of our trip seemed doomed we did share some good times. Below, are some of those good times.

We just can't get enough of this little one, well that is all of us except for Crosby!!! As of today he weighs in at 16 lbs. and aproximately 25 inches high. He is in the 97% in his height and in his weight! This sixteen pound baby is really giving Crosby a run for his money ha ha! Poor Crosby. We still love you Crosby!!

Memorial day , we had our annual pool volleyball game, and as usual it got competitive, and as usual, the boys beat the girls! I am a few days late in posting this. But I wanted you all to see the cute card I got from my girls. They took me out to breakfast, and spent more on me than they should have. In Jaunuary Katie, Abbey and Kelsi bought tickets to see Brittany Spears. They have been anticipating this night, and it is finally here. They all looked so cute, I had to snap a picture of them....I think they'll be the best dressed girls in the Jobing.com arena, well exceot Brittany of course!!!

Well after 4 years of testing and testing being radiated and re-radiated, I am finally clean!! Today I got the good news. The results from my Whole body scan revealed that there was no abnormal radiotracer accumulation. There is no scintigraphic evidence of metastic disease. Also my thyroglubulin (my tumor marker)is at 1.3 ng/mL. So, I won't have to recieve the nasty iodine-131 treatment. I am pleased and very very very happy! No more tests until next year!

Ok, so I think that we all agree(by we I mean the family that resides in AZ) that as cute as this little one is, he does really cry alot! Well today, I had the opportunity to babysit. And while there was some crying, there wasn't alot of crying. I had so much fun with him today, he has discovered his hands, and it is cute to see how he follows us with his eyes. We had company last week, Jill and Gina were here from Chicago. We decided that we should venture out to "The Big Bang" to see if we could actually make it through the night without having our cars towed. I am happy to say that when we left the dueling piano bar. our cars were right where we parked them!!!

This morning Kim and the baby came over, we were able to spend the whole day together. I have fallen in love with this little guy, he has enriched our lives. I took some more pictures of him today. I hope no one tires of looking at him. I think he gets better looking with each day. By the way, he lost his umbilical cord today....I think his cute little belly button is going to be an "inny".

Monday was my 50th birthday, and while I am not thrilled about turning the big "5" "0", It is much better than the alternative!! Katie bought me and Larry dinner from my favorite restaraunt "Carraba's", and the kids all came over for cake and ice-cream. I have a lot to be thankful for. Thank you guys,for making my birthday special. Life is good! By the way....one of my gifts was a nikon coolpix.....I am still learning to use it, as you can see!!!

I have been so busy lately with remodeling bathrooms, painting, dapping, that sort of thing that I haven't really had time to do what I love doing most. The past couple of days I have been doing these frames. They are 20 X 20 and have a 6 inch square cutout for a picture. I have made several for the girls and decided to make a few for me.

Saturday night , the girls and I hosted a baby shower for Kim. I have to say that I wasn't prepared for the huge turn outthere were 20+ guests. Kim made out like a bandit. The shower began at 5:00 and was over around 8:30 P.M. She has four more weekks until she is due.

After much thought, we decided to redo our guest bathroom...you know, get rid of the tacky brass fixtures, revamp the counter tops, tile the tub and floor etc. We had several quotes from qualified professionals ranging from $8,000-$2,1000. We really didn't want to spend that much, and decided we could propably do the job for much less. Most of last month and part of January we did just that! I qam proud to say that we spent half of our lowest bid. I think it turned out great! We went with the higher counters.Below are some pictures of the finished project. (also a few before pictures).The only thing I will miss from before, will be the pattern on the walls.

I finally finished putting the Christmas decorations up...so much work goes in to decorating and after a month, I get to take it all down! This year I ditched all the old tree ornaments and bought new, I am really pleased with the outcome. Yesterday, we had our plantation shutters installed, you can sort of see them in some of the pictures! I love how they look!

Last week Kim got married, and today Kim turned 24 years old! Last night we celebrated (because tonight we are going to see Transiberian Orchestra)! Any way the whole gang was here, (well almost). We had cake and ice-cream, and overall just had a good time. Happy Birthday Kim, and congrats on becoming a "Mrs."...I love you!!

We have (almost) finished our new patio, It will be complete after we select a fridge, new chairs, tables etc. oh and after Larry, my beloved cleans up the mess!! We put pavers and a portico where grass use to be, and had a bar/island put in. We are excited to use it, I think we will try it out on Thanksgiving day.

This past weekend I went to Nevada to cheer Larry(my step-son)on while he competed in the SILVERMAN, his first Ironman distance race. The race began at 6:30 a.m. at Lake Mead and consisted of a 2.1 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.3 mile run. The day was so cold, I think the temperature was around 40 degrees, with rain, and wind, I myself was freezing, I couldn't imagine how the athletes must have felt. It took him 13 hours and 57 minutes to complete the race. He finished 58 overall and 6th in his age division. The race was grueling. I just want him to know how proud I am of him...I have gained so much respect for him. Larry you did an awesome job and we love you!

On Friday night we went to Abbey's and KJ's house for a party, Mostly everyone there dressed up, of course there were some party poopers who didn't have costumes.(me included) We had some yummy food and played some fun games like Assassin, Apple Bob, and "how's your's". I read an article today in the Arizona Republic, about a woman named Stephanie Nielson. She and her husband were in a plane crash in St. John's in mid August. 83 percent of her body was burned, and her husband's body was 35 percent burned. I was touched when I read the article. My prayers are with her and her family. I have attached a link for anyone who may be interested in donating to the Stephanie Nielson Fund.

Kim had an ultra sound yesterday, and found out she is having a boy. She hasn't picked out a name yet, but we are all trying to brainstorm for a really cute name.

Meet Abbey!

I decided a little while ago that I would highlight one of my daughters, every couple of weeks or so. I am blogging about Abbey today. As most of you know Abbey is the manager of Victoria's Secret, here at the Superstition Springs Mall. But I will let you in on some things you don't know about her. She is PASSIONATE about her job, whenever the family gets together, the subject always turns to Victoria's Secret. Abbey is very creative, she has made her house look beautiful, and she loves doing crafty things...and like her mom, she loves to shop at Poppy's and Orange Patch Too. She is full of energy, she is silly, she is sweet,and very willing to help me out before being asked. I feel blessed to have her in my life. I love you Abbey!

Yay!! My tubes are gone!!

After two long months, today I went to the doctor and finally had the tubes that were placed in my eyes taken out. The left eye was first, it was a weird feeling, but the second eye was somewhat painful....let's just say that the tube was residing in the top of my nasal cavity and didn't exactly come out spic and span...you do the math. Anyway, it feels so good to have them out. Above is a picture of tube that was in my left eye. The tube measures a little over 2 inches

Today Larry did his Triathalon, and finished 12th in his age category, he was joined by his son, Larry, who placed second in his age group and 9th overall, And Erica, our daughter-in-law, who placed 26th in her age group, and 112 overall. They all did us very proud....It was quite an accomplishment to all who participated.

Last weekend I went to San Antonio with my bank buddies. We had a good time, although it was hotter than you know what. Actually I can handle the heat but the humidity is what killed me. We walked the River Walk, saw the Alamo and did some shopping! Good Times!!!

Meet Katie!

I have been bugged about not doing enough posting, so I thought about what I could possibly post about, being that my life is pretty uneventful!! I decided that I would do a little blurb on each of my daughters. This week I am featuring Katie. She is my oldest so I decided to begin with her. First of all I just want to say that I am blessed to have a daughter like Katie. She loves life, and has such a strong faith and belief in God. She is an example to all of us, and is always willing to help out when needed. She is bright, creative, and keeps us all laughing. She recieved her bachelor degree at ASU where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Katie is in her third year of teaching, and loves her little Kindergarteners so much that we don't get to see her as much as we would like to. When school is out she spends alot of time at the school, planning lessons and preparing projects, but she makes time to teach classes at Fitness Works. We all love Katie!

As some of you may know...my husband has joined his son,who has been training for a Triathalon, which will take place in about three weeks. A triathalon consisits of swimming, biking and running. Larry has been riding 50+ miles every Saturday morning, and swims between 850 and 1500 meters at Canyon Lake. Obviosly he cannot run, due to his bionic knees, so he is going to walk instead of run. To make a long story short, I decided that it would be fun to ride with him, although not on a competitive level.....therefore, I bought a cruiser, so that I can just go along for the ride. I love my new bike, although it is nothing like that of my husband's bike, I am looking forward to just cruising around!!!! Who knows....maybe someday I will do a Triathalon..ha ha ha! By the way did I mention how proud I was of Larry??? I'm Very proud!!

I am blogging today about our little boy....Crosby. A few weeks a go, Kelsi and her friend were getting rteady to lay out when her friend noticed Crosby stepping out of the pool. We were quite concerned, as Crosby hates the water, and really doesn't know how to swim, or so we thought. We put a netting around the pool so he wouldn't fall in..Wells last night we did our Fantasy football draft and so there were quite a few people over. While Kelsi and I were in the Kitchen, Crosby came tearing through the doggy door like a maniac, when Kelsi reached down to pet him, he was soaking wet! Yes, it seems he went for another swim, and had no trouble getting through the netting. So puzzled as we were we put him in the pool to try and get some answers...yes he can swim, yes, he still hates the water, and apparently he had trouble getting out of the netted area. It's a mystery. Now we need to figure out another way to keep him from falling in.

Eye Surgery

Yesterday I had surgery to fix my blocked tearducts. The surgery is called a dacryocystorhinostomy Basically two incisions are made on each side of the nose, a new hole is made to drain the tears, and something called a Jones tube is inserted for a couple of months. I have to admit that I really underestimated the surgery, The pain was pretty signifigant, but I made it past yesterday, and today the pain is much easier to manage....and tomorrow should be even better!

Kim is expecting

I just wanted to let everyone know that Kim is expecting. She went to her first doctor's appointment and found out that she is due on March 3rd. So, I am going to be a grandma for the first time....then I too will be able to post pictures of my grandkids!!!

When Larry and I first got married, I picked out a simple gold band...I loved it for it's simplicity, but as the years went by we decided to upgrade......today I got a brand new, shiny, sparkling 2 carat wedding ring, (thank you honey). It is absolutely beautiful! I took a few pictures, but they do not really do it justice, nor do they make my old wrinkly fingers look very good, but....I am getting old and fingers do not lie. Hope fully you can get a better look at the ring when Katie and I come for a visit in September.

Yet another RAI side effect

Since early November I have been fighting watery eyes. I have been to doctor after doctor after doctor, each one of them telling me something different. After trying different medications etc. with no results, I came to the conclusion that what I had was probably not what I had been told by each doctor. I found out three weeks ago that I have two blocked tear ducts.......apparently this is a side effect of the delicious Radioactive cocktails I drank in order to treat my thyroid cancer. So on Monday August 11th I am having yet another surgery. I have mixed emotions I am excited to finally put an end to all the tearing, but at the same time very nervous.

I am always complaining about how unhappy I am with my weight. I am one of those people who have always struggled with my weight. Before I go to bed at night I tell myself that "tomorrow I will start my diet"...well tomorrow comes and somehow the diet never really gets going. As most of you know, we have been fixing up our house, and with that comes cleaning things out in prep for the new work. As I was cleaning out the trunk in the upstairs hall the other day, I came across a photo that I had taken at the wax museum on our 2004 trip to California. I took notice of how good I looked (well I thought I looked ok). I also remember that when we went on that trip I thought I was huge....oh to be that huge right now. Anyway I am posting the pic in hopes of getting myself inspired to finally lose some weight.

New Bedroom!!

In June we installed hardwood flooring...well we have finally finished our bedroom.
So as promised I am posting some before and after pictures. I love the new look. It was time to get rid of the RED paint. Larry is not so crazy about the new color, but I have gotten lots of compliments. What do you think??? Also, take note of who's bedside table is cleaner. The one on the left side is mine!!!!
